nxtLIB – hardware-independent libraries
Real devices and functions are represented as software objects (CAT = Composite Automation Type). Several such CATs are summarised in libraries. Directors combine the normal devices and functions of an application or branch, but libraries with virtual hardware components are also offered.
The work with libraries offers the project engineer the possibility of implementing projects more efficiently and quality assured. Moreover, once the solutions are generated he can use them over and over again.
A software object / CAT consists of:
- Control engineering
- Visualisation (HMI / SCADA): symbols, operating dialogues, etc.
- Process connection: interconnection of the hardware-specific inputs/outputs
- Documentation
Branch libraries:
- Building automation,
- Home automation,
- Process automation,
- Machine automation
Hardware libraries:
- Beckhoff,
- Siemens,
- Wago,
- etc.
