IEC 61499 Day

Industrial Use Cases of Distributed Intelligent Automation ... 23 November 2011 - Nuremberg, Germany

Technical Presentations / Industrial Use Cases / Hands-On Experience

This free one-day seminar and workshop will offer state of the art of IEC 61499 which isseen by its proponents as the next generation programming architecture for industrialautomation. The IEC 61499 architecture enables genuinely distributed automation design, where the intelligence is being designed from very beginning as decentralized andembedded into software components, which can be freely distributed across networkedhardware devices. This is serious leap forward as compared to the current understanding ofdistributed automation as field bus connectivity to remote I/Os or information exchangebetween PLCs.

The workshop will reflect industrial experiences, in particular of Tessmar (Austria), ITIA-CNR(Italy), Glidepath (New Zealand), PROFACTOR (Austria), Turomas Group (Spain) andEnergex (Australia) in applying IEC 61499 technology provided by software tools ofISaGRAF(Canada) and nxtControl (Austria) and using off-the-shelf hardware ofAdvantech, Beck, Beckhoff, SIEMENS, Wago and other suppliers.
